Probably the last post from my recent visit to the Portrait Gallery in Washington DC.

I really like the symmetry in this picture:

New laws affecting photographers rights in the UK

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

A recent post of David Hobby on Strobist included a video by Nick Turpin, a Street Photographer in the UK.

This video includes information regarding some new laws that affect how people can take pictures in public, and a gathering of some members of the organization iN-PUBLIC.

Take a look:

Blue Devils vs Tarheels College Baseball

Monday, March 23rd, 2009

Yesterday I decided to act like a sportsshooter and take some pictures at a College Baseball game.

Fortunately there was a game between the Blue Devils of Duke University (Durham) and the UNC Tarheels at Boshamer Stadium in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Blue Devil Baseball

A beautiful sunny day, which was nice for watching the game. Unfortunately not the best light for taking pictures, since the start of the game as at 2pm, and therefore took place during the time of day when the sun is creating really harsh shadows. Still a fun and relaxing game to watch!

The Green Swamp

The last couple of days here in Durham (North Carolina) have been special: An unusual amount of heavy rain.

The Green Swamp (Durham, North Carolina)

Obviously this was good for our lakes and drinking water supplies. Just too bad the majority of the rain occurred over the weekend! Going for a bike ride or running in the forest (like the one in this picture) was not possible – or not too pleasant, depending on your point of view.

Maybe even pleasant in case you are an Ogre?

Wisdom Of Ages

Another picture from my recent visit to the National Portrait Gallery in Washington DC.

Statue in the National Portrait Gallery in Washington DC

I’m a big fan of art that is many generations old. It just seems to me, as if something that is hundreds of years old has a wisdom embedded, even if it’s nothing than a piece of stone.

I don’t know about you – but I almost feel as if the woman that modeled for this statue so many years ago is still alive and looking straight at me.
