Lincoln Memorial

Tuesday, May 24th, 2011

Sometimes it pays off to get up early.

I still like this picture of the Lincoln Memorial, even though it is a fairly standard tourist shot, which I made at six o’clock in the morning during a trip to Washington DC. Probably the only time when it’s possible to make an image of the Lincoln Memorial without any tourist in the picture.

Howler Monkey

Earlier this year, while travelling in Nicaragua, I had the great experience of visiting the Indio Maíz Biological Reserve.

This Nature Reserve is located at the border between Nicaragua and Costa Rica, in a remote southeastern corner of Nicaragua. It takes several days of traveling, mostly by various boats, to get to this Reserve. As a result only very few tourists make it there, and the only other humans (apart from our guide) seemed to be the soldiers monitoring the border.

Here is one of my images, a howler monkey, who was sitting in a tree watching us walking by.

Watering Hole

Thursday, May 5th, 2011

This is kind of retro for me.

Those who know me might remember that I spent about three years in Namibia (Southwest Africa). This was a great time for me, in regards to my work and general life experiences.

This morning I looked at some of the images I made in Namibia, and came across this old favorite of mine. This was made in the early morning hours at a watering hole in the Etosha National Park in Nambia.
