Old fashioned diner

October 5th, 2011

Last weekend we made a fun little trip to Lynchburg (Virginia), a fun little town with a lot of history about the civil war.

One of the nice places to go for dinner was the Marketplace, and old fashioned diner. What I found to be interesting was the constellation of ventilators at the ceiling: They were arranged horizontally, in one long row. I just had never seen this before…

Sailing after Hurricane Irene

September 9th, 2011

My friend has a sailing boat near Oriental, NC, which fortunately was not significantly damaged by Hurricane Irene – the Hurrican that had swept through that area just one week earlier.

Slick Rocks at the National Arts Program

September 1st, 2011

I’m very honored that one of my images has again been accepted into the National Arts Program, in connection with the 2011 Duke Employee Art Show.

The image accepted is my black and white image of the Slick Rock Falls in the Pisgah National Forest in western North Carolina, and is currently on display in the Louise Jones Brown Gallery at Bryan University Center. If you get a chance – drop by and take a look!

Backyard Buzz

Another little impression from our beautiful backyard. It’s simply wonderful what kind of wildlife you get by having a pond an a lot of plants that are native for your area.
