Watering Hole

This is kind of retro for me.

Those who know me might remember that I spent about three years in Namibia (Southwest Africa). This was a great time for me, in regards to my work and general life experiences.

This morning I looked at some of the images I made in Namibia, and came across this old favorite of mine. This was made in the early morning hours at a watering hole in the Etosha National Park in Nambia.

Last weekend I went hiking with some friends in the Smoky Mountains, a trip that was not meant to be a time to make images.

I still decided to grab this quick frame at Max Patch, a nice hilltop with a stunning 360 view to the surrounding mountains.

Jumping For Joy

Last weekend my wife and I drove to the Outer Banks to make some stock images. Nothing fancy, nothing that was supposed to be overly artistic.

Here is one of the images we made. I was extremely impressed by the jumping abilities of my wonderful wife.

Circle of Light

When reading blogs about photography there is one statement that seems to stand out to me over and over again:

“No matter where you are, there are ten great images within ten steps of you.”

A few days ago I was sitting on my couch, surfing the net on my iPad, and came across that statement once again. So I tried to put this to a test and create an image without getting up from the couch. This is what I came up with, it’s the base of a lamp:
