Found this somewhat disfigured dummy in a window in San Francisco.
OK, I know it’s San Francisco – but this poor thing just looks slightly pathetic….

When reading blogs about photography there is one statement that seems to stand out to me over and over again:
“No matter where you are, there are ten great images within ten steps of you.”
A few days ago I was sitting on my couch, surfing the net on my iPad, and came across that statement once again. So I tried to put this to a test and create an image without getting up from the couch. This is what I came up with, it’s the base of a lamp:

This is an image I meant to share for a while.
While traveling through Ukraine a while back I had the opportunity to go into the caves of an old monastery in Kiev. Those caves were carved by monks about one thousand years ago, and some of the skulls of those monks are still kept in jars in those caves.
For the last two weeks I have posted pictures from my recent trip to Nicaragua. After seeing all those monkeys in the wild of the rainforest it seems really depressing to look at pictures I took in a Zoo.
My favourite Zoo is the one in Asheboro, North Carolina. The areas for the animals are by far bigger than in your average Zoo, and you actually have to walk a bit between the exhibits, which gives you an in my opinion more natural experience.

Another quick impression from my recent trip to Nicaragua.
This image was taken from Ometepe Island, overlooking the Lago de Nicaragua:
